The Brand
Founded in Ringstead, Northamptonshire in 1939, Dodson and Horrell has grown to become a respected authority on animal nutrition and Europe’s leading horse feed manufacturer. Still a family run business to this day, we are dedicated to all aspects of animal nutrition and are equally committed to our local farmers, environment and of course our customers, both here in the UK and those throughout the rest of the world.
Our efforts as a manufacturer of high quality horse feed were recognised in 1985 when we were proud to be awarded the Royal Warrant and only recently we have seen our Royal Warrant status extended to that of Horse and Dog Food Manufacturers By Appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Best known for horse feed, the company has been manufacturing the Chudleys range of dog and pet food for over 30 years and further consolidated its position as a leading animal feed manufacturer, through the 1999 acquisition of a sister company Gold Line Pet Products.
Chudleys The Chudley family, renowned for breeding and training champion labradors, springers and cocker spaniels had long been buying straight cereals from Dodson & Horrell when in 1976 they agreed to cement their relationship on a commercial basis. With that, the Chudleys brand was born and Chudleys Original became the flagship product. The Chudleys range now incorporates complete dry diets for pet and working dogs, plus a small animal range.
