Give a Dog a Home in association with The Field

For the next few months, Chudleys are teaming up with Field magazine to find loving homes for these working breeds all over the UK. We're delighted to be supporting the scheme and the five charities involved, and will be donating rehoming packs to each dog that is adopted!

Go to www.thefield.co.uk/giveadogahome for full details of the campaign.

Please contact each individual organization directly if you're interested in offering one of these dogs a home; all applications will be vetted by them. The campaign will be running until Spring 2012, and we'll be updating you then on the dogs and their new homes.

We're donating a Chudleys Rehoming Pack to every Dog adopted as part of the Campaign!

Packs include:
a 2½kg bag of Chudleys dog food, feed bowl and scoop, right weight record card, local stockist leaflet, discount voucher and a herbal supplement sample.

The contents of the packs are subject to availability.

Covering the South West area up to Northamptonshire and Rutland, the Trust was founded in 1988 and is staffed by over a hundred volunteers. Please email all enquiries about rehoming to enquiries@labrador-rescue.com

  • Cooper

Dog, aged 16 months Chocolate labrador
HE'S still in need of training after his owners left him alone for long periods but he loves being the centre of attention.

  • Harvey

Dog, aged 8 years, Yellow Labrador
HE is a supported dog, so the Trust will cover his veterinary needs – a pin in his back leg and occasional beta-blockers.

  • Max

Dog, aged 4 years, Chocolate Labrador
MAX is trained to the gun and is both sensitive and intelligent. He was attacked on two occasions while out at gundog trials, which has made him quite wary of being cornered. Although requiring some lead training, he is a very quick learner and could easily live with another well-balanced, calm dog.

One of the most famous animal rescue charities in the UK has been caring for and rehoming animals since 1860, and the Duchess of Cornwall recently adopted a Jack Russell terrier from them. Email rehoming@battersea.org.uk for all enquiries.

  • Silo

Dog, aged 9 years, English Springer cross
SILO needs a calm and confident owner. He's a typical Springer and is always succumbing to his inquisitive nose

  • Red

Dog, aged 2 years, Patterdale terrier
THIS terrier is the perfect candidate for a rural setting without children or other dogs. He has never lived in a home before, so requires understanding and experienced owners who will allow him to settle in slowly. He loves toys and may also suit a working home.

  • Banjo

Dog, aged 2 years, Patterdale terrier
HE may be prone to some classic terrier moments but he'll make a great addition to a home with experienced owners, who can continue his training.

The Dogs Trust cares for 16,000 dogs a year at its 17 centres nationwide, and never puts down a healthy dog.

  • Leo

Dog, aged 2 years, Jack Russell terrier
LEO'S previous owner wasn't able to exercise him enough, so he's looking for a home where he can go on plenty of walks.

  • Sally

Bitch, aged 6 years, Greyhound/Lurcher cross
LIKE many sighthounds, a rural area where she can run free from her lead is ideal. Good with big dogs, not small furries.

  • Campbell

    Dog, aged 5 years, Sprocker
AN intelligent dog with strong picking-up instincts. He needs a relaxed owner who is active and used to working spaniels.

Over the last four years the Retired Greyhound Trust has rehomed 4,000 dogs. Last year it reached a milestone of 50,000 retired greyhounds having found a home through them.

  • Rosie

Bitch, aged 7 years, Brindle Greyhound
ROSIE is ready to go to a loving home. Playful, she sometimes pretends to be a tigress but rest assured, it's only a feint

  • Larry

Dog, aged 5 years, Black Greyhound
HE retired from racing when he decided that chasing the lure wasn't as important as having fun. A clever and confident dog.

  • Riley

Dog, aged 2 years, Black & white Greyhound
HE'S good on the lead and kennels well, living happily with his companion Millie. They could be adopted as a pair.

Recently launched in 2008, Springer Rescue accepts and rehomes dogs from all over the UK. Most are taken on as pets but they'd be just as happy as working dogs in rural Scotland. Email adopting@springerrescuescotland.org for more information.

  • Ben

Dog, aged 2 years, English Springer
BEN is obedient off the lead and his recall is excellent. He adores swimming, so a rural home with a big garden, surrounded by fields and maybe even a pond would suit him well. Good with children, he would happily fit straight into a country family's way of life.

  • Jack

Dog, aged 4 years, English Springer
IDEALLY suited to a home where he's the only dog in the garden. He's also happy to be left alone for periods of time.

  • Sam

Dog, aged 6 months, English Sprocker
SAM is friendly but would benefit from further training. He has a loud bark and needs experienced owners with perhaps another older, calmer dog.
