Previous Junior Chudleys Gundog Championship competitor, Shannon Hartree, competed against the adults aged 19-years-old for the first time in the 2016 Chudleys Gundog Championship.

Which Countryman Fairs events did you compete at?

I competed in the Chudleys Gundog Championship at the Broadlands Country Show and the Highclere Country Show.

Have you competed in the Championship before?

I previously competed in the Junior Championships, however this was my first year competing against the adults.

What dog did you compete with?

My Labrador, Pippa.

Did you train prior to the Chudleys Gundog Championship?

Yes, I trained a lot to keep Pippa on the ball and ready to compete against the tough competition.

What was your highlight of the competition?

My highlight was winning the working test at the Highclere Country Show against the adults, also the friendly support from the other competitors.

How far did you get in the competition?

I qualified for the final at the Midland Game Fair after my victory at Highclere. However I had to pull out of the finals at the Midland Game Fair as Pippa was due to have a litter of puppies.

Will you be competing in the 2017 Chudleys Gundog Championship?

Yes, most definitely! Pippa and I will be back next year.

Do you have any tips for those who are planning on competing next year?

Make sure your dog is ready and trained for the Championships by having all of your commands in place. But most of all have fun!
