Incredible agility and skill was on display during the latest round of the BASC Chudleys Scurry League

The gundogs were back in action at the weekend as the latest round of the BASC Chudleys scurry League took place at the Rhug Country Fair in Gwynedd. With bright skies and not a cloud in sight, talented handlers and their skilled dogs put on outstanding performances showcasing their abilities.

There were a number of exciting scurries taking place throughout the weekend for all backgrounds, from junior to experienced. Spectators were treated to some incredible displays of agility in many events, including multi pick up, pick & mix and obstacle.

On the first day it was R. Bunning with Drake who achieved the quickest time in the multi pick up event with 21.57 seconds. K. Welsh with Will.I.Am had their turn to shine during the pick & mix competition, completing the course in 46.81 seconds. T. Bryant with Skye registered a top time of 8.38 seconds in the obstacle. Closing out the Saturday was the junior obstacle winner S. Wilson with Chewy and a fantastic time of 8.94 seconds.

Sunday was another day filled with action packed scurries. J. Ogden with Spark demonstrated superb handling skills achieving 1st place with a time of 22.43 seconds. K.Welsh with Will.I.Am continued their strong performance from the previous day and secured 1st place in the pick & mix event. Closing the final day of the BASC Chudleys Scurry League competition at Rhug was Amy who Merlin who finished top of the junior obstacle category with a staggering time of 8.38 seconds.

It was another impressive weekend for handler J. Clarke and their dog Kizzy. After their superb performance during the last scurry league competition at the Myersough Open Day and Country Fair on the 11th June, the duo finished 2nd in pick & mix and 3rd place in the multi pick up on the Saturday. Whereas on the Sunday, Kizzy secured another 2nd place in the pick & mix and moved up a position to 2nd in the multi pick up.

Overall it was an amazing weekend for everyone involved. Not only was the weather sublime, all the handlers and their dogs that participated put on incredible performances. The next round of the BASC Chudleys Scurry League will take place at The Game Fair on the 27th – 29th July at Ragley Hall.
