The first two qualifying rounds of the highly anticipated Chudleys Gundog Championship commenced at the Kelmarsh Country Show on 21st– 22ndApril 2019.
The ever-popular championship offers contestants the chance to win an array of fantastic prizes by competing in a selection of scurries and the working test. Eager and enthusiastic handlers and their gundogs flocked to the entry tent to battle it out in various scurries such as the Pick ‘n’ Mix, Duck Distraction, Up ‘n’ Over and Long Retrieve.
Tested against the clock the working test put the gundogs through their paces, assessing their ability to compete in artificial conditions similar to a typical shoot day.
Countryside enthusiasts pack out the beautiful surroundings of Kelmarsh Hall eagerly waiting to see the gundogs in action. Their patience wasn’t disappointed, as everyone in attendance was treated to some first-class, nail-biting display of stamina and skill.
On the first day of competition 2018 Chudleys Gundog Champion, Brody Chequer with Dave continued their incredible performance and secured a place in the Grand Final. In the Junior Championship Ellie Close, Ebony Davies and 2018 Junior Champion, Lexi Moore all qualified for the 2019 Grand Final.
The qualifiers of the Chudleys Gundog Championship will go through to the Grand Final hosted at the Midland Game Fair on 14th & 15th September 2019
