SPEED AND STAMINA WERE ON DISPLAY DURING THE LATEST ROUND OF THE BASC CHUDLEYS SCURRY LEAGUE.

The Gundogs were back in action at the Game Fair.

It was another exciting line up of gundog action as the Game Fair at Ragley Hall played host to the latest round of the BASC Chudleys Scurry League. Eager to showcase the skills of their furry friends, talented handlers were ready for another weekend of strong competition.

There were several events taking place over the three-days including: multi pick up, pick & mix, partridge pen, obstacle, novice scurry and junior obstacle.

Let the competition begin.

Bright sunshine filled the skies on the first day of the event. The excitement was high as incredible displays of skill filled the scurry course. R. Bunning with Drake took top honours in the multi pick up in a time of 19.91 seconds, obstacle in a time of 7.87 and partridge pen in a time of 21.57 seconds. C. Hobbs with

Archie wowed the crowds in the pick and mix scurry finishing on 34.84 seconds.

First place in the novice scurry went to R. Wesson with Bert for a time of 24.55 seconds. Junior handler, Ebony Davies with Ziva continues her impressive year finishing 1st place in the junior obstacle scurry with a time of 9.13 seconds. The Lord Lichfield winner for the day was C. Hobbs with Archie for an overall time of 86.75 seconds.

A little rain won’t stop these gundogs.

As the rain started to come down on Saturday of the Game Fair, the gundogs were back in action for another day of fierce competition. R. Bunning with Drake continued to demonstrate strong handling and hunting skills finishing 1st once again in multi pick up and partridge pen with times of 19.53 and 20.51. S. Townsend with Dee secured the quickest time in the pick and mix scurry finishing on 31.02 seconds.

It was a close competition in the obstacle scurry, but D. Dedicoat with Purdy were able to hold first place with a time of 8.31 seconds. B. Vandeput with Nelson were five seconds clear of 2nd place in the novice scurry with a top time of 30.40 seconds. The junior handlers continued to show their skills as Danny with Buzz took home 1st place with 8.10 seconds. L. Southern with Macy were awarded the Lord Litchfield Daily winner with a time of 82.14 seconds.

As the rain continued, so did the performances of the handlers and their gundogs.

On the final day of the Game Fair the rain started to pour down over Ragley Hall. Everyone was ready for the last day of competition. It was J. Ogden with Spark who took top spots in multiple events, finishing the multi pick up with a time of 18.75 and 19.28 seconds in the partridge pen. The top three positions in the obstacle scurry were separated by just milliseconds. Able to narrowly hold first place was D. Dedicoat with Purdey in a time of 8.03 seconds.

Seb with Chewy won the junior obstacle title after finishing the contest in 8.32 seconds. S. Townsend with Dee were the final winners of the pick & mix with a time of 33.06 seconds. They were also the last winners of the Lord Lichfield Daily competition with a time of 84.84 seconds.

After three days of competition the overall Lord Litchfield winner was L.Southern with May after securing a time of 82.14 seconds.

The next BASC Chudleys Scurry League will take place at Fenland Game Fair on the 26th and 27th August.
