Chudleys ambassador, Howard Kirby, qualified for the World Championship for Pointing Dogs and the St. Hubertus Cup in September. Over the last month we have followed Howard’s journey with his partner Dr. Linsey Whitley as they prepare for the championship in France.
Howard and Linsey have returned home, and we are thrilled to share Howard’s final diary entry:
“We’re on our way home from The 2017 World Championships held in Herm, France. How’s it been? We had a ball! Oh my word, as experiences go this is going to take some beating. The whole trip, from start to finish has surpassed my expectations.
In terms of competition success, GB were outstanding. Mother and Daughter, Sara and Maddy Raynor took second place team in the St. Hubert competition and was then joined by their team mate John Naylor who took second place team in the Pointer and Setter World Championships.
Linsey Whitley, my partner and love of my life, was a super star and handled her German Long Haired Pointer to overall third place in the Mediterranean Cup, and then went on to take third individual place in the World Championships. Yes you’re reading it correctly, Linsey and Rory went up against the top handlers and dogs in the World and just shone!!! I’m proud, happy and tearful (yes I have been known to cry) – what an amazing achievement.
A huge thank you to all of our friends, family and fantastically supportive and kind people that follow us on social media.
To the Team at Chudleys, we’re so grateful for all of the support, superb nutrition and general help you have given us here at Mullenscote in the run up to what for sure will affect the future course of the rest of our lives – truly epic.”
A huge congratulations to Howard and Linsey from all of us at Chudleys!
