The BASC Chudleys scurry league headed to Wales for the Royal Welsh spring festival in Llanelwedd. Soaking up the wonderful weather, crowds were treated to an excellent display of skill and outstanding performances from both handlers and their dogs.
Drawing the eager onlookers attention was the inclusion of of the highly entertaining water retrieve scurry, alongside the more familiar pick and mix, multi pick up, and obstacle scurries.
There was a fantastic mix of competitors who came along with their dogs to compete and of course, have plenty of fun. The Saturday fixtures saw a mixture of winners with Julie Higgins and her lab Cody taking top spot in two of the four events. Keith Welsh and his black Labrador Will.I.Am took 1st place in the Pick and Mix while Shelley Sandiford with Theo clinched top position in the obstacle scurry by .2 of a second.
Sunday was largely dominated by a terrific performance from Julie Higgins and Cody. The duo winning three out of the four scurries for an impressive display over the weekend. Shelley Sandiford and Theo again proved formidable in the obstacle taking top sport for the second day running.
Congratulations to F. Jones who finished in 1st and 2nd in the junior obstacle scurry with his dogs Logan and Flynn.
The next BASC Chudleys Scurry League fixture takes place at Myerscough Open Day & Country Fair on the 10th June.
