Chudleys Ambassador Howard Kirby and partner Dr. Linsey Whitley have been selected onto the GB team to compete near Herms in France in October 2017.
Linsey will be competing with her German Long-Haired Pointer Questor Llewlyn (Rory) and Howard with his Championship winning dog Ftch Wamilanghaar Tash of Mullenscote (Tashi).
‘In terms of training we can always improve ourselves and our dogs, both of these dogs are ready to compete, our main challenge between now and the World Championships is ensuring that they stay fit, healthy and injury free in the run up to France. The very nature of the power and speed that these dogs put into their work means we are running on a knife edge.’
Dogs need to run hard on the Continent so we will be focussing on encouraging the dogs to cover the ground at a really fast pace, where when and how we run them will be instrumental in producing the performance we need.
Of course Nutrition is essential and the support, advice and help we get from Chudleys will be crucial in the build-up to a really busy competition season. These two dogs will give 100% of their effort, the food we feed them fuels this performance. We are currently working closely with the Chudleys Nutrition Team to ensure that we give Rory and Tashi the very best that we can as we build up the work and fitness sessions.'
A massive congratulations to Howard and Linsey on this fantastic achievement! We are all very proud of you both.
We will be following Howard's journey through to the World Championships, stay tuned for his next installment on Tuesday!
